Bayer Radiology Coronavirus Update for Customers

During these difficult and evolving times, Bayer Radiology would like to update our customers on our products and services to provide reassurance. First, we would like to express that Bayer Radiology is committed to providing the highest quality of products and services to continue to meet our customer needs. We are continuously monitoring the COVID-19 situation and realize the complexity of the situation. Bayer is taking all necessary measures to keep our employees and customers safe as the situation evolves. As a valued partner, we want to reiterate our primary goal is to ensure the health and safety of patients and the larger community, while acting with sound reason and judgment.

We are taking action on several fronts:


Ensuring supply for patients is the highest priority for Bayer.  We are closely monitoring the situation with COVID-19 and taking all the steps possible to ensure that the needs of patients are met. Bayer has inventory policies throughout our supply chain including buffers for our sourced material. We are continuously monitoring the global situation and are in regular contact with our suppliers to ensure smooth product productions. Currently we have no out-of-stocks.  However, we are experiencing longer lead times on some of our products portfolio. Please contact your Bayer representative with questions. 

Virtual Customer Engagement

Our general approach is to balance the health and safety of our employees and customers, while continuing to perform on-site business critical activities that ensure patients can get the imaging procedures they need.

Syringe Quality Assurance

We take extensive measures to ensure the safety and quality of all Bayer Radiology products.

Proper sterilization is essential to the patients we serve. Bayer utilizes radiation sterilization on a portion of its medical device and disposable products. Based on available data from studies performed on the Coronaviridae family of viruses, which includes coronaviruses, radiation sterilization can effectively inactivate these types of viruses on certain surfaces.1

In addition, we manufacture our products in a cleanroom, with air filtered through HEPA filters which is cleaned and disinfected frequently. The personnel working in the cleanroom don cleanroom clothing, including facemasks and gloves, to prevent contamination of the product before packaging and sterilization.

Cleaning and Disinfectant Instructions

In light of COVID-19 developments, Bayer is providing cleaning and disinfection instructions for its medical devices. In general, Bayer recommends following instructions published recently in the Journal of the American College of Radiology, JACR1. The authors recommend to either wash devices with soap and water or decontaminate using a low-level or intermediate-level disinfectant, such as iodophor germicidal detergent solution, ethyl alcohol, or isopropyl alcohol. Specific instructions and tested disinfectants/cleaning agents are provided on a per-product basis please click here to view instructions. Please pay close attention to product specific operations manuals as the use of some disinfectants may cause damage to parts of the injection system and should not be used.
